This little guy has made an appearance on my blog a few times now... (most recently for his six-month portraits, which can be seen HERE)
Last week he celebrated his first birthday. One. Sigh... to be one again. This is such an exciting time for parents; looking back at the last year and appreciating how much has changed... Your baby is no longer a baby.. but starting to look and act like a toddler. I've been through this twice, and I know what it feels like to go back to work, knowing that the "baby days" are over. That being said, I also know that watching my child turn two was more fun than watching them turn one... and watching them turn three was more fun than watching them turn two. It seems like I'm always saying "this stage is my favourite stage"... and then when they get a bit older I say "this stage is my favourite stage"... it just seems to get better and better the older they get. But as much as I enjoy watching them grow, I love to look back and cherish those younger stages. There isn't an album on my shelf, or a video on my computer that I don't look at once in a while... to remember. And THAT, my friends (if you're still reading) is the perfect reason to get regular portraits taken of your family and your children.
I'm so happy to have photographed this adorable little redhead during his first year and I can't wait to watch him grow : ) Here are a few of my favourite images from our session a few weeks ago. Also making an appearance in the post: his beautiful mommy, his super-fun grandpa who always made him smile, and his adorable dog Molly!
